🦆 Join the Fun: Adopt a Duck for the Annual CL FIRES Rubber Duck Race!
Every year, the CL FIRES hosts a beloved community tradition: the Rubber Duck Race! It’s an event that brings together neighbors, friends, and families for a morning of laughter, excitement, and friendly competition—all while supporting the vital work of the Crystal Lakes Volunteer Fire Department (CLVFD).
Here’s the scoop:
Adopt a Duck – Each duck you adopt is entered into the race. You can adopt a single duck or a whole flock!
Watch the Action – All ducks are released into Snoopy Pond, where CLVFD firefighters use fire hoses to “push” the ducks toward the finish line.
Celebrate the Winner – The first duck to cross the finish line earns its adopter bragging rights and a special prize!
It’s fast, it’s fun, and it’s a little bit wild—perfect for kids and adults alike.
Why Adopt a Duck?
By adopting a duck, you’re not just entering the race—you’re supporting your local fire department! Funds raised through duck adoptions go directly toward CLVFD’s operational needs, equipment, and community programs, helping ensure that our firefighters are ready to protect and serve.

Where: Snoopy Pond
Come join us for a morning full of smiles, splashes, and community spirit. You’ll also get the chance to meet our firefighters, see our apparatus in action, and cheer your duck on to victory!
How to Adopt Your Duck
In Person: Visit us at Basecamp on any Saturday in June between 10 AM – 1 PM.

You are adopting a duck that will race in the CL FIRES/CLVFD Annual 4th of July Duck Race. We award 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in both Adult and Kid categories. We will be racing 650 ducks and each one is given a number. You will receive an email from CL FIRES with you duck number(s) so you will know who to root for!
Duck Race T-shirts
Along with all of our new shirt designs, CL FIRES is continuing to offer Daryl the Duck T-shirts through Bonfire! All proceeds go to the Crystal Lakes Fire Department.
